La evolución de los derechos de las personas con discapacidad ha sido un camino largo y lleno de desafíos, con logros significativos y avances legislativos que han marcado un antes y un después en la inclusión social y la accesibilidad. En este contexto, el acceso a los servicios de vídeo bajo demanda (SVOD, por sus siglas en inglés: Subscription Video on Demand) para personas con discapacidad representa un área crítica de desarrollo, dado el creciente consumo de contenido digital y la importancia de garantizar la igualdad de acceso a la información y al entretenimiento.
En este estudio se profundizará en la evolución histórica del marco legislativo español que regula los derechos de las personas con discapacidad en el contexto de las plataformas de vídeo bajo demanda. Asimismo, se analizan los avances y retos en la implementación de medidas de accesibilidad, proporcionando una visión integral de la situación actual y las perspectivas futuras para la inclusión digital en el ámbito audiovisual.
The evolution of the rights of people with disabilities has been a long and challen- ging road, with significant achievements and legislative advances that have marked a before and after in social inclusion and accessibility. In this context, access to Subs- cription Video on Demand (SVOD) services for people with disabilities represents a critical area of development, given the growing consumption of digital content and the importance of ensuring equal access to information and entertainment. This study will delve into the historical evolution of the Spanish legislative frame- work regulating the rights of people with disabilities in the context of video on demand platforms. It also analyses the progress and challenges in the implementation of ac- cessibility measures, providing a comprehensive view of the current situation and future prospects for digital inclusion in the audiovisual field.
